Instructor notes: Greetings! My name is Shannon Myers (formerly Shannon Gracey). This online class requires students to use a computer with reliable internet service to access online learning materials. Students must take proctored (paper-and-pencil) tests given on the MiraCosta campuses at the Academic Proctoring Center. To be officially enrolled in this class, you must first add it in SURF. Also, you must register in WebAssign at http://www.webassign.net/, and begin submitting assignments by the second day of class which is 1/23/18. Additional information about my past classes can be found on my website at www.mathchick.net. You will be watching YouTube videos and using these movies to complete the course guided notebook (available in the bookstore or at mathchick.net), all of which will be posted on my website. These videos are the lecture portion of the course. You should expect to spend approximately 5 hours per week on the video lectures, and an additional 10 hours per week participating in class discussion boards, completing online homework and quizzes, and prepping for exams. Please check Canvas via the Online Ed tab on www.miracosta.edu after January 15th and no later than January 22nd for the syllabus, tentative schedule, and other information. If the class materials are ready before that date, I will email all enrolled students. I look forward to serving as your instructor!
