ZTC and LTC Classes

The college strives to ensure that the ZTC and LTC designations are accurate; however, under some circumstances, faculty may have to adjust selection of instructional materials and this can affect course material costs. It may also be necessary to change instructors. Replacement faculty have academic freedom to choose instructional materials regardless of costs and are not obligated to use free course materials selected by an instructor previously assigned to the class.

Science and Math for Young Children

This course provides teachers with knowledge and skills related to science and mathematics curriculum in early care and education settings. It focuses on understanding the ways in which children learn science and mathematics, the stages of children's cognitive development, the scientific process, content and standards of science and mathematics education, the teacher's role in the scientific process, and ways in which science and mathematics can be integrated across the early childhood curriculum.

Instructor notes: This is a hybrid course, which means all course content will be made available online and we will meet in person from 9:00 – 11:50 AM on 8-consecutive Saturdays, beginning March 31, in room OC8001. Although we have a physical class meeting, you will need to engage in online course activities on multiple occasions throughout the week. 

We are utilizing a Zero Textbook Cost Grant and therefore, course materials will need to be downloaded and/or extracted from online resources not purchased.
