Lodestar Program

The MiraCosta College Lodestar Program plays a key role in helping new faculty get acquainted with the MiraCosta community and successfully navigate the challenges of the first year.

One definition of lodestar -- a star that shows the way -- particularly embodies the spirit of the program. Lodestars are faculty that choose to specially mentor our newest faculty, guiding them through the unknown. They provide assistance and support in virtually all aspects of the life of a first-year faculty member at MiraCosta.
