For more than 30 years, LIFE has brought curious, engaged adults together every Friday afternoon for inspiring talks, lively discussions, and genuine community. Free, welcoming, and endlessly interesting, LIFE represents learning at its best.
LIFE is a weekly lecture series sponsored by the MiraCosta College Foundation and open to all adults aged 18 and older. While most participants are retired seniors, everyone is welcome. Each Friday features two guest speakers covering a wide range of topics from local history and world events to science, culture, and the arts, with a break in between for refreshments and conversation. No two Fridays are ever the same.
Program Details
- When: Fridays, 1:00–3:30 p.m.
- Where: MiraCosta College, Administrative Building 1000, Board Room
- Online: Also available via Zoom
- Cost: Free and open to the public. Donations are encouraged and directly support students of MiraCosta College.
Beyond weekly lectures, LIFE members enjoy field trips, First Friday dining out, and special events throughout the year, connections that make LIFE much more than a lecture series.

LIFE is entirely volunteer-led, and its members are committed to something larger than their own learning.
