Practice Description
Lou Storrow is a sole practitioner based in Carlsbad. His practice focuses on advice and representation to private business entities of various sizes on issues including business formation, governance, purchase and sale of assets, privacy, trade secrets and proprietary information, employment agreements, human resource policies and procedures, investigations, and terminations.
Mr. Storrow advises clients on policies, practices and procedures running the gamut of employment issues, including agreements with key executives; protection of trade secrets and other information; hiring, promotions, demotions, discharges, reductions in force; wages and hours and regulatory compliance; severance agreements and release strategies; privacy; and arbitration. He has participated in investigations of employee misconduct, including harassment and retaliation, and provides advice to companies based outside of California on U.S. and California employment law issues.
Mr. Storrow represents employers (and occasionally employees) in state and federal courts, before state agencies and in alternative dispute resolution settings. He has presented at seminars for business, human resources professionals, lawyers and others concerning employment law issues.
Mr. Storrow has served on the Board of Directors of the North County Personnel Association of San Diego, including a term as President in 2003. He has long been a member of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce, has served as chairman of various committees and task forces, and is currently Chairman of the Board. He serves as a fee arbitrator for the Bar Association of Northern San Diego County, is a member of the Association’s Bench Bar Media Committee, and is a delegate to the California State Bar Conference of Delegates.

Mr. Storrow represents management and employers in business and employment-related matters. His clients range from local small startups to multinational, publicly held companies in industries including: defense, telecommunication, biotechnology, transportation, pharmaceutical, high technology and software companies; law firms and medical professionals; manufacturers, distributors and retail businesses; and others.
Publications, Presentations & Articles
Mr. Storrow regularly writes and speaks on employment law, business, corporate governance and privacy, and has addressed business organizations, human resources professionals and community groups. He teaches Employment Law for Human Resource Professionals in the extended studies program at California State University San Marcos.
Education & Bar Admittance
Mr. Storrow was admitted to practice law in the state of California, the Supreme Court of California, and the U.S. District Court, Southern District of California in 1988. He received his J.D. degree cum laude from Suffolk University in 1988 and his B.A. in Communication from New York University in 1979.
