MiraCosta College's Public Information Office creates and implements the district’s governmental relations, marketing and communications programs. These responsibilities include public affairs and legislative advocacy, public information, media and community relations, advertising and recruitment, social media, crisis communication, the coordination and design of district publications and campus signage, customer service and public events. This office also acts as a resource before, during and after emergency situations by providing guidelines and information to help manage crisis situations.

The Public Information Office has many resources available to faculty and staff on the college's Portal, including a marketing toolkit, signage rentals, information on ordering business cards and nametags, includes flier templates, a photo library, information on e-newsletters, and more.
