MiraCosta College Students to Assist Low Income Families with Tax Returns

Students from the tax program at MiraCosta are currently providing tax preparation and e-filing through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA). The VITA Program, sponsored by the IRS, offers free tax help to low- to moderate-income (generally, $48,000 and below) families who cannot prepare their own tax returns. Certified volunteers sponsored by various organizations receive training to help prepare basic tax returns in communities across the country.

Student volunteers from MiraCosta College will be available at the following locations and times:

Lifeline Oceanside, 707 Oceanside Blvd.: Thursdays, 4:30-7:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 8 a.m.-; and at 1210 Division St.: Wednesdays, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. and Saturdays, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
