San Diego Gas & Electric, in support of its Inspiring Future Leaders initiative, has provided a $5,000 grant to benefit MiraCosta College’s Summer Bridge Program for 2013.

“On behalf of all of us at San Diego Gas & Electric, thanks for all you do to support underserved kids in North County,” said Warren R. Ruis, community relations manager for SDG&E. “We think this is a fantastic opportunity to support the next generation of local leaders in a meaningful way.”

MiraCosta College’s Summer Bridge is a six-week program limited to a select group of students each year. The program is open to all students, but was designed to serve the unique needs of African-American students with an emphasis on African-American themes. It offers intensive academic preparation, highly individualized academic advising and enrichment programs in an intensive, yet nurturing environment during the summer.
