1 - Bachelor’s Degree in Business Offered at MiraCosta College Under New Agreement with Point Loma Nazarene University
2 - MiraCosta College Introduces Promise Program
MiraCosta College has a new program called MiraCosta Promise, that will provide a year of college without fees and funding toward textbooks and instructional supplies to eligible students who commit to Promise requirements. MiraCosta Promise is funded from a variety of current resources and private donations to the MiraCosta College Foundation.
3 - MiraCosta College Nursing Program Ranked Among the Highest in California
MiraCosta College’s Registered Nursing Program has been ranked the third best in California based on the passing rates of students taking a state licensure exam.
4 - Inaugural Bachelor’s Program Launched
MiraCosta College welcomes a cohort of junior year students this fall for the college’s first four-year bachelor’s program in biomanufacturing. The program will prepare students for careers in the biotechnology industry. The inaugural program emphasizes biological production where science is partnered with quality and compliance. Existing biotechnology degree programs in California focus on product understanding during the research and early development stages. MiraCosta College’s biomanufacturing degree program will emphasize the process understanding required of later stages of biotech development and production.
5 - MiraCosta College Opens the Nordson STEM Learning Center
The next generation of innovators now has a stunning new building at MiraCosta College to develop the skills they will need to find careers in science, technology, engineering and math. The new science center positions MiraCosta as a vanguard institution ready to produce future leaders in computer science, biotechnology, the pharmaceutical and life science industries.
6 - Three MiraCosta College Students Receive Prestigious Scholarship
Out of thousands of applicants nationwide, Azizi, Sorourifar and Reynolds were selected based on a focus on exceptional academic ability and achievements, financial need, persistence, leadership, and a desire to help others.
As recipients of the Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship, Azizi, Sorourifar and Reynolds will have the opportunity to apply for the Graduate Scholarship, equating to $50,000 toward educational costs to pursue a graduate degree.
7 - MiraCosta College Yoga Teacher Training Program is at the Top of the Class
The reviews are in, and MiraCosta College’s Yoga Teacher Training Program is at the top of the class. Reviews of the program, part of MiraCosta College’s Career Technical Education (CTE) offerings, are posted on the Yoga Alliance website. Yoga Alliance is the largest nonprofit representing the yoga community, and its mission includes supporting and promoting excellence in yoga instructors and instructor programs.
