American College English (ACE) 49 and 50 Classes
The new American College English (ACE) 49 and 50 classes are identical to English 49 and 50 in terms of course goals, objectives, and content. In addition, ACE 49 and ACE 50 both fulfill the same prerequisites that English 49 and English 50 do. Successful completion of ACE 49 allows students to enroll in ACE or English 50, and successful completion of ACE 50 allows students to enroll in English 100.
ACE courses are particularly suited for students from multilingual backgrounds as well as native English speakers who need or desire extra assistance with language/linguistic issues and English skill development.
Students enjoy greater success rates in our ACE classes and are well-prepared to achieve success in their next level course. The ACE 49 and ACE 50 classes are also four-unit classes, but they offer an additional hour of instruction per week to focus on grammatical and other linguistic issues.
Space is also available in ACE 90 and ACE 92, English Support for Psychology and English Support for Sociology.
Days and times of all open ACE classes are listed below and can be found on
SURF
