MiraCosta College Presents Film ‘Zoot Suit’

MiraCosta College is proud to present “Zoot Suit.” the next film in the Latino Film Series. This free screening will be held on Friday, January 25, at 5:30 p.m. 

“Zoot Suit” is part fact and part fiction, and is based on the real life Sleep Lagoon murder trial of the 1940s, and the riots that followed. Originally a Broadway play, Luis Valdez’ film version includes music by Daniel Valdez and Lalo Guerrero, the “father of Chicano music.”

The evening will feature a guest appearance by the film’s lead actress, Rose Portillo. 

MiraCosta College’s Oceanside Campus is located at 1 Barnard Drive. The event will be held in the Little Theatre (Room 3601). Free parking is available in any student lot. Doors will open at 5 p.m.
