BIO 102: Ecology and Environmental Biology (4 units)

This general education life science course for non-science track students uses an interdisciplinary approach to explore the science of ecology and address contemporary environmental issues seeking sustainable solutions. Combining classroom investigation with field exploration, the lab component includes several field trips to local environmental resources CSU, UC transferable.

This general education life science course explores the diversity of life in the ocean and introduces basic biological concepts offering students a broad perspective of biological systems. Combining classroom investigation with field exploration, the laboratory emphasizes an understanding of the ocean from the biology of marine organisms to the structure of coastal communities. Students are required to attend local field trips. CSU, UC transferable.


BIO/BTEC 180: Biostatistics (4 units)

This course introduces site analysis, component selection, and the operation and maintenance of water efficient landscape sprinkler systems. CSU transferable.


HORT 110: Introduction to Sustainable Horticulture (3 units)

This course introduces sustainable horticulture principles and practices in gardening, landscaping, nursery management, and floriculture. Students are required to attend field labs and field trips. CSU transferable.


HORT 118: Arboriculture (3 units)

LATE START: begins 9/4

This introduction to the care and management of landscape trees prepares students for the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certification exam and provides ISA Continuing Education Units (CEUs). CSU transferable.
