Volunteer Needs: The Arc of San Diego is the largest, most comprehensive provider of services for individuals with disabilities in San Diego County. Volunteers are needed to assist the PALS department with recreation activities Friday evening - Sunday. Activities range from rock climbing, dances, cooking classes, kayaking, movies, Padres games and more! Join the fun and gain practical experience working with teens and adults with intellectual and development disabilities today! The Arc requires fingerprints, TB test, background check, drug test, and physical at no cost to you.

Volunteer Needs: Volunteers who have a passion and desire to work with and inspire youth are needed. Work with K-8th grade, assists with homework, tutoring, mentoring. Must have the ability to implement programs/activities in a variety of areas: science, music, environmental, education, sports, fitness and recreation and arts. Middle School: Monday 1:30-6:00, Tuesday-Friday 2:15-6:00, Elementary School: Monday-Friday 3:00-6:00. We require fingerprinting through Live Scan and will cover the cost to do so. Participants can pick up volunteer applications and Live Scan information at our main site, 401 Country Club Lane. All participants must interview with the BGC of Oceanside prior to being fingerprinted.

Volunteer Needs: Opportunities for student Interns would be assisting in case managing clients in our Social Services department. Opportunities for general service learning volunteers are: Ongoing data entry and administration projects, bilingual volunteers are needed to help register Spanish speaking families especially during Holiday Basket Programs, serving in our Client Center/ food pantry, and thrift stores. Fingerprinting and a background check is required for some programs, TB test required for Children and Domestic Violence Programs. More information will be provided after interns/ volunteers have been accepted into the program (minimum of one college semester for Social Services Interns.) Volunteer Needs: North County Community Services operates North County’s Food Bank, six preschools for income qualified families, and a garden program to grow food for our preschools. We have volunteer opportunities in all of these programs and the administrative office. Preschool volunteers may assist in our kitchens preparing meals, in the classroom attending children, or maintaining preschool gardens. Office volunteers may assist with copying, filing, data entry, and other office tasks. Garden volunteers help planting, harvesting, weeding, and watering. Preschool volunteers must have a current TB test and be able to pass a background check. All volunteer opportunities need to be scheduled ahead of time, no drop-ins. Volunteer Needs: Volunteers help with every aspect of operations at the food bank: collecting donations, sorting food, packing and distributing food boxes and cleaning. Before your first shift, you need to attend an orientation and training session. The time spent in training will go towards your total service hours.
