Unable to Log into SURF
If you are unable to login to SURF because you received the following:
- An error stating Your PeopleSoft connection has expired.
- The Oracle screen.
- And/or your browser keeps looping back to the login prompt.
Then follow the below steps to correct these issues:
- If you are using Internet Explorer version 9 (IE9) on a Windows based computer do the following:
- Click on the Tools menu located on the top right corner of your browser.
- Click the command Compatibility View Settings.
- When you see the Compatibility View Settings dialog box, ensure that the three check-boxes located on the left bottom corner are checked.

- Click the Close button to close the dialog box.
- Continue if you are using Internet Explorer versions 9 and below:
- Click on the Tools menu again.
- Click on the command Internet Options.
- Select the General tab, click the Delete... button located in the Browsing history section.
- For IE9 and IE8 ensure all the check-boxes are checked except for the very first one, then click the Delete button.

- For IE7 click the Delete all... button, when you see the Delete Browsing History dialog box, ensure the check-box Also delete files and settings stored by add-ons is checked, then click the Yes button.

- Select the Security tab, click on the Trusted sites green check mark, then click the Sites button.
- When you see the Trusted sites window, type https://surf.miracosta.edu in the Add this website to the zone: box, and click the Add button. The URL you typed will be added to the below box Websites:
- Ensure the check-box Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone is UNCHECKED!

- Select the Privacy tab, ensure the Settings is set to Medium. If not, then click the Default button.
- In the Pop-up Blocker section, ensure the check-box Turn on Pop-up Blocker is checked.

- Click the OK button to close the Internet Options dialog box.
- Close the IE browser, if more that one browser is open, close ALL of them, this is how the settings will take effect.
- Open the browser and attempt to login into SURF
- If still unable to login, reboot your computer, reset your internet connection modem by turn it off for about 1 - 2 minutes than turn it back on.
- Attempt to login again. If it continues to fail than you may use the Firefox browser.
- If you don't have Firefox installed in your computer, you may download the FREE browser at www.firefox.com
