English Testing Availability:
The English Assessment is a computerized test consisting of a reading test and a writing test (editing text). Scores are available immediately upon completion of the test.
The ESL Assessment is a computerized test consisting of a reading test, grammar/usage test, and test of listening skills. Take this test if your first (native) language is NOT English. This includes:
- Students who have grown up in a home in which English was not the primary (main) language.
- Students enrolled in the International Student Program (IIP) or students who have completed non-credit ESL (continuing education) or English Language Development (ELD) classes in high school.
Usually English Testing takes 60-90 minutes to complete. Students who start the test at the ending time in the schedule may not have sufficient time to finish the test the same day.

Please bring acceptable photo identification* and social security number. *Acceptable photo identification includes: student identification card, driver's license, state ID, military ID, passport, or high school yearbook (picture with name).
Mathematics Test Availability The Math tests are computerized; scores are available immediately upon completion of the test. It is a timed 75-minute test.
The computerized math test is offered on a drop-in basis at the locations listed below. Space is limited at the San Elijo Campus Testing Center and at the Math Learning Center at both campuses, and students will be taken on a first-come first-served basis. You should allow at least 1-1/2 hours to complete the math testing process and arrive no later than the ending times listed below. Referrals are necessary for adaptive math testing (from Disabled Student Programs and Services) or ESL math testing (from Testing staff). Contact the Testing Department for information.
The Algebra Readiness, Elementary Algebra, Intermediate Algebra. and Pre-Calculus practice tests are available on the Testing Department website. You will select your test level.
Paper/pencil practice packets for Algebra Readiness, Elementary Algebra, Intermediate Algebra and Pre-Calculus are available in the bookstore for approximately $3.00. This is the same material that is available online.
