MiraCosta College Veteran's Services

Veterans Information Center

In an effort to reach out to student veterans, MiraCosta College has opened the Veterans Information Center, located in the 3000 building on the Oceanside campus.  The Veterans Information Center provides a place for students to find resources on G.I. Bill benefits, MiraCosta Student Services, and community organizations that are dedicated to assisting veterans. The Center also provides a place for students to relax, study, and meet with friends.

The Veterans Information Center is staffed by Veteran Peer Advisers.  Peer Advisers are MiraCosta students who understand the unique circumstances and challenges that veteran students face because they are veterans themselves.  They are specially trained to assist students in identifying relevant programs and resources that are available on campus and in the community. Resources are available on a variety of issues, including employment, counseling, housing, and healthcare.

The Veterans Information Center also has a MiraCosta College counselor available by appointment.  Counselor Nancy Diaz is the veterans counselor. Additionally, the San Marcos Vet Center has a representative available on campus on designated days and times. Please see the veterans counselor and the San Marcos Vet Center outreach coordinator section of this site to find hours of availability for these services.
