Hello, my name is Manuel Acero. I have been employed at MiraCosta since 1999, serving in various capacities such as Tutor, Student Ambassador, and Instructional Aide before starting permanent employment in November 2008 as a Noncredit Student and Faculty Support Assistant at the Community Learning Center. It is my pleasure to accept the nomination and run for the position of Senator for the Classified Senate Council. I had the privilege of serving as a Senator for the last two years and learned a lot in the process. I always did my best to represent my constituents well and keep them current with the happenings on campus that directly affect classified employees. I have and will continue to work hard to support the shared governance model under which we operate at MiraCosta which, when put into practice, is the basis for an equitable workplace and, in turn, an excellent learning environment for our students.

Hi, my name is Dori Sexton.  My work experience began here on campus over 20 years ago as an Early Childhood Educational Supervisor in the Two-Year Old classroom at the Children’s Center.  Fifteen years later, I began my current position at the Student Accounts Office as an Accounts Representative assisting students with their accounts.

My education began in the 1970s at the MiraCosta College campus; I then received my BS at SDSU. I am currently continuing my education by taking online classes in Business Office Technology, here at MiraCosta College for personal enrichment and continuing education.

I have enjoyed my work experience here at MiraCosta College, especially being able to interact with the students and assist them with their transition into college life.  With my 20 years on campus, I believe I would be a good candidate for the position of the Classified Senate Senator.
