Nowruz Celebration with Pomegranate Garden Dance
Join AMEMSA+ in celebrating Nowruz, commonly known as “Persian New Year." This tradition is over 3,000 years old! AMEMSA+ has partnered with Pomegranate Garden Dance for live Persian Drumming and a brief lesson in Persian Dance.

1982 Film Screening and Discussion
1982 is based on the 1982 Israeli invasion of Beirut. Join AMEMSA+ for a screening of this poignant film and discussion with Maha Gebara-Lamb as she shares her own memories of war in Lebanon.

Performing Patterns: Artmaking, Anti-Arab Discrimination and Community Activism
Interdisciplinary artist Doris Bittar views patterns as cultural DNA. Join Doris in this workshop that will fuse art, community activism and anti-Arab discrimination work into a powerful creative force.

Middle East Flashpoints Lecture
This lecture will provide historical background and analysis related to four “flashpoints” in the Middle East:
- The civil war in Syria
- Competition between Saudi Arabia and Iran for regional dominance
- the ten-year conflict in Yemen
- the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians
