Financial aid is a multi-step process that can be confusing. A missed step can lead to frustration and stress. The FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) is just the first step. Beginning July 1, 2013 there is a new time limit on borrowing Direct Subsidized loans for NEW borrowers. If you have NEVER borrowed a Direct Subsidized loan and you will be borrowing for the first time during the 2013-14 school year, please click on the link below for IMPORTANT information regarding your new loan:

To check the status of your financial aid file: Log onto SURF, go to Self Service, Student Center, and click on your TO DO list. To print the forms listed on your TO DO list, go to our website at: www.miracosta.edu/financialaid and click on Financial Aid Forms. Forms listed on your TO DO list that are not available at our website can be mailed to you. Contact the financial aid office.
To view your Awards, Cost of Attendance, Expected Family Contribution, Financial Aid Need, and to view and print your Award Notification Letter, log onto SURF, go to Self Service, Student Center, and click on View Financial Aid. Scroll to the last page for disbursement dates, located under Messages. If you are unable to access this page and receive an error message, please clear your brower cache. For instructions on how to properly clear your browser cache, click here.
Important Note Regarding Copies: If the financial aid office is requesting copies of your documentation, please be sure to have them available prior to checking in at the front counter. The financial aid office will not be able to provide copies for you. Copy machines for student use are available in the lobby of the 3000 building for 10 cents per page ( cash only), the Library for 10 cents per page (copy card or cash) and in the Bookstore for 10 cents per page (cash only), when the Library is closed.
