Dr. Sunny Cooke
After 11 years as superintendent/president of MiraCosta College, Dr. Sunita “Sunny” Cooke has become more than her title suggests. She has become a steady presence — not only in North County but across the region and state — someone students, faculty, staff, and community partners trust to lead with care, clarity, and intention. As she prepares to retire at the end of this academic year, it is clear that her legacy is not defined by any single initiative, but by the way she approached the work itself, with an eye always focused on the future.
