The Honors Program

An inclusive community of motivated students centered on enriched academic experiences!

Every student at MiraCosta College is invited to participate in the honors experience. The Honors Program consists of specialized courses specifically designed to develop exceptional academic ability in highly motivated students. Honors courses provide intensive instruction and challenging course work through close interaction with honors faculty to provide students with an enriched educational experience. Students interested in virtually every major can participate in honors while making progress toward graduation and transfer. The Honors Program also offers valuable opportunities for leadership, cultural and social engagement, and participation in research conferences.

Friends of Honors

Our “Friends of Honors” fund was created to provide support to honors students for items of highest priority that are not covered under our district budget. Such items include but are not limited to refreshments for students in the lounge, a welcome packet for new honors program students, and items for special initiatives including our special Summer Exploration program. Any amount given to this account helps us run a more effective/impactful program for the benefit of our students.
