Eligibility Requirements
- Be declared in a calculus based Math, Engineering, or Science field
- Be a 1st generation college student (this means your parent or guardian does not have a BA or BS degree in any country)
- Be a full-time (12 units) current MiraCosta College Student
- Intent to transfer to a 4-year institution
- Have no previous bachelor’s degree in any field
- Have 3 or more regular semester (Fall or Spring) left at MiraCosta College
- Fill out the FAFSA or California Dearm Act Application (CADAA) to determine eligibility for aid such as the Pell Grant, Cal Grant, Federal Work Study, Cal Fresh, or other need-based/subsidized Financial Aid
Student Requirements
Students will be required to participate in the following activities:
- Attend a new student Orientation on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 2-5 pm
- Complete an educational plan and midterm academic progress report with MESA Counselor
- Be able to commit a minimum of 4 hours a week in the MESA Center
