Canvas is a web-based learning management system (LMS) designed to support MiraCosta's online courses. Canvas includes a variety of built-in course features and tools that allows students to work and collaborate, post and reply discussions, view lessons, submit assignments, take exams, view grades, communicate with instructors and their peers, and track their academic performance and activities.
Further, Canvas is a safe, password-protected online environment that allows MiraCosta College to manage digital learning, educators to create and present online learning materials and assess student learning, and students to engage in courses and receive feedback about skill development and learning achievement. Educators may store helpful documents like their course syllabus and other learning materials specific to their courses.
Additionally, while Canvas is primarily a web-based software, any user can access Canvas on a mobile device from the Canvas Student application. Learn more about the Canvas mobile applications.
