I enjoy seeing students' excitement when they realize they are making solid revisions to their writing and their writing process is working for them. One of my favorite stages of the writing process is reading and doing research; I like learning all I can about a new topic. When I am not in the Writing Center, I am playing with my kids and cooking new recipes. I am also taking Spanish classes; I hope to be a fluent Spanish speaker someday.

My favorite part about the writing process is being able to brainstorm ideas and see them come to life by the end of the essay. I love being able to go through this process with students and in my own writing through working in the Writing Center.
Jeff, Coach
The best part about working in the Writing Center is getting to hear other people’s ideas, since I think ideas are really at the heart of why we write. Outside of work, my favorite things to do are practice Spanish, read psychology books, and run on the treadmill (usually not all at the same time).

I became a writing consultant because I love to help people, and it’s been an amazing journey so far. It’s been really great getting to meet and work with so many wonderful people in my time here at the Writing Center. I’ve had the opportunity to work with the fantastic students and staff at MiraCosta for three years, and I can’t wait to work with you! I enjoy every stage of the writing process, but my favorite thing to do in the Writing Center is brainstorm with students. I think it’s so cool to see how people begin to develop their ideas and watch them form into a piece of writing. I especially love the back and forth aspect to Brainstorming where I get to have a conversation with a student on a variety of interesting topics, so come by and have a chat!
