Online Education Support Resources

Tutoring - options for ALL students include in-person and/or online support from:
- The Learning Centers (Includes STEM Learning Center, Writing Center, Academic Support and Innovation Center)
- International Language Resource Center
- If a MiraCosta tutor is not available at the time or for the subject you need, try:
  - the Western eTutoring Consortium
  - NetTutor - Go to the Student Support Hub and click NetTutor at upper left
Online Library Support - library resources and 24x7 librarian chat
- Request a technology loan (laptop and/or Wi-Fi hotspot)
Tech Support
- ITS Help Desk (for help with Canvas, SURF, Zoom, account info/passwords)
- Online Open Computer Lab (for help using tools like Office, Google, and Adobe)

Use this checklist if you need to know how to enroll in an online class at MiraCosta
Review these tips for success as an online learner and the technical requirements for taking an online class

Student Online Academic Readiness (SOAR)

MiraCosta offers many Student Online Academic Readiness 1-hour workshops online each term. You can sign up in advance for the date/time of your choice for one of the fall dates:
- Mon. 8/18 12 pm and 7 pm
- Tues. 8/19 10 am and 3 pm
- Weds. 8/20 1 pm
- Thurs. 8/21 5 pm
- Mon. 8/25 2 pm
- Tues. 8/26 12:30 pm
- Weds. 8/27 7 pm
- Tues. 9/2 2 pm
- Weds. 9/3 10 am
- Thurs. 9/4 5 pm
- Tues. 9/16 4 pm

MiraCosta students can self-enroll in the Canvas SOAR course to have access to all the resources and practice opportunities provided there. Note, though, that students must participate in a live workshop in order to be credited with completing this.
Faculty can learn more about the content of the SOAR and how to know which students have attended a SOAR session.
