Online Express Chat
Chat with a counseling front staff member. Cranium Cafe Online Chat is available for any student or prospective student to ask quick, general counseling related questions, get connected to a resource, and/or schedule an appointment with a counselor. The Online Express Chat service is public and open to all students. Please note: The chat feature is compatible with Chrome and Firefox browsers only.
Express Sessions with a General Counselor
Express Sessions are designed for students to get their questions answered quickly and are "first-come, first-served." Please note that these sessions are structured for quick questions and a follow-up regular appointment may be necessary. Students can sign up by either connecting with our front staff through "Online Express Chat" or via email to email@example.com.
We offer Express Sessions through live Zoom consultations over your computer, laptop, or smartphone or via a traditional telephone call. When you sign up, our staff will ask your preference and give you a timeframe when the counselor will reach out.
Express Sessions can fill up very quickly, so we advise students to contact us as early as possible to get your name on the day's list.
We are committed to serving veterans and their dependents who are new to college or returning to continue their education.

Workshops For First-Time-to-College Students

We have an online workshop for YOU!
Our "New Student Course Selection Workshops" are live Zoom sessions run by our counselors and designed to get you up-to-speed
on the basics of building your schedule. Workshops are limited to 10 students and
you must have a MiraCosta student ID to sign up; click here to register.
These workshops are for new students who have never attended college, are returning after taking some time off, and high school students. If you are using military benefits and are new to MiraCosta, we have special support for you, too!
