Got Story? Identity Celebration Showcase
We welcome submissions in genres including, but not limited to,* the following:
- Writing including, but not limited to, personal narrative, short story, flash fiction, experimental writing, essay, memoir, drama/screen- or playwriting, novel or novella excerpt, literary journalism, poetry, graphic narrative, comics, and storyboard
- Visual art including, but not limited to, drawing, prints, photography, painting, mixed media, sculpture, ceramics, crafts, graphic design, photography, film/video, and wood work.
- Performance inclusing music, song, dance, drama, comedy, spoken word… if you can record it, we’d like to display it, and we welcome you to submit it.
- Digital projects including, but not limited to, websites, games, hypertext poetry, hypertext fiction, animation, digital art, video essay, CAD, and digital illustration.
What have we forgotten to mention? We want to display that too.

Submission Guidelines
- This Showcase is open to any member of the MiraCosta community and will accept any creative project related to any aspect of any of their identities.
- 2026 submissions open September 1.
- Beginning September 1, you will be able to submit your work.
The first 30 artists who submit work will receive a participation gift.

¿Tienes Historia? Vitrina Celebrando la Identidad
Aceptamos propuestas en géneros que incluyen, entre otros, los siguientes:
- Escritura incluyendo, entre otros: narrativa personal, relato corto, microrrelato, escritura experimental, ensayo, memorias, teatro/guion (para cine o escena), fragmento de novela, novela corta, periodismo literario, poesía, narrativa gráfica, cómics,
- o guion gráfico (storyboard).
- Artes visuales incluyendo, entre otros: dibujo, lámina de arte, fotografía, pintura, técnica mixta, escultura, cerámica, artesanía, diseño gráfico, cine/video, trabajo en madera
- Artes escénicas música, canción, danza, teatro, comedia, o *spoken word* (poesía recitada)... si puedes grabarlo, nos gustaría exhibirlo y te invitamos a enviarlo.
- Proyectos digitales incluyendo, entre otros: sitios web, videojuegos, poesía de hipertexto, ficción de hipertexto, animación, arte digital, videoensayo, CAD, o ilustración digital.
¿Qué hemos olvidado mencionar? También queremos exhibirlo.

Pautas para el envío de propuestas
- Esta muestra está abierta a cualquier miembro de la comunidad de MiraCosta y aceptará cualquier proyecto creativo relacionado con algún aspecto de su identidad.
- El plazo de envío para 2026 se abre el 1 de septiembre.
- A partir del 1 de septiembre, podrás enviar tu obra.
Los primeros 30 artistas que envíen su obra recibirán un obsequio por su participación.
