When are the W-2's mailed out?
By law, we are required to have them in the mail no later than January 31 of each year. They are usually mailed out before that date.
How can I get a copy of my W-2?
Use the Paystubs (Jan 2017-June 2020) link to access W2s from 2017-2019; for W2s before 2017 please contact the payroll office. W2s will be available for the current year in Workday by January 31.
Can I opt to pick up my paycheck?
All paychecks are mailed out on payday. If you have an emergency situation please send a request to email@example.com for the possibility of a one-time exception to pick up.
What happens to my direct deposit if I close my bank account?
The bank will return your funds to MiraCosta College and that can take up to 2 weeks. Once the funds are returned, payroll will issue you a check. You will also need to update your direct deposit information in Workday to avoid this happening again.
**Note: If you have been the victim of fraud, please notify payroll immediately so that we can try to stop the direct deposit prior to pay day. Before closing your bank account be sure to update your banking information in Workday.
How do I get a copy of my paycheck stub?
You can view and print your paycheck stubs in Workday. Follow this link for a job aid Manage Your Payslips from the Workday Training portal. For paycheck information prior to July 1, 2020 you will need to access the PeopleSoft ESS link on the payroll website. Click on the PeopleSoft ESS link, both direct deposit and hard copy pay warrants are displayed for your viewing. If you have issues, please contact the Employee Helpdesk and they will assist you.
