ASG Standing Committees

Executive Council & Student Senate

The Executive Council and Student Senate are tasked with being the voice of the students and serving the collective needs of the MiraCosta student body. The Executive Council meets on a regular basis to discuss matters pertaining to the ASG and may make recommendations for the Student Senate to consider.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee is tasked with assisting the Director of Finance in making recommendations to the ASG on all fiscal matters.

ICC Leadership Council

The Inter-Club Council leadership meets on a regular basis to discuss matters pertaining to the ICC Full Council including making recommendations to the Full Council on all fiscal matters.

Inter-Club Council

All club members have a voice through the Inter-Club Council (ICC), to which each club sends a representative. ICC develops effective, organized, and fair policies so all clubs will thrive. ICC also sponsors a club recruitment day known as "Club Rush" each semester, which gives interested students an opportunity to learn about the various clubs on campus and allows clubs to increase their membership.

ASG Working Groups

Appointment Working Group

The Appointment Working Group is comprised of members of the Student Senate and is responsible for interviewing applicants for senator and student-at-large positions and make recommendations for appointment to the Senate.

Community Learning Center (CLC) Working Group

The Community Learning Center (CLC) Working Group represents and supports students at the Community Learning Center (CLC).

Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, & Accessibility Working Group

The Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, & Accessibility Working Group serves as leaders who advocate for all students, especially those who are underserved or facing an equity gap. This group is empowered with the responsibility to hold the entire ASG accountable to engage in this work together.

Law Working Group

The Law Working Group is responsible for making recommendations to the ASG regarding changes to the ASG constitution and by-laws.

Legislative Affairs Working Group

The Legislative Affairs Working Group guides the Vice President of Legislative Affairs on matters related to the coordination of advocacy efforts on behalf of student interests and representation of ASG to off-campus entities, as delegated by the ASG President or the Senate.

Public Relations Working Group

The Public Relations Working Group is responsible for creating media and marketing product to communicate with the students of MiraCosta College. The group is lead by the Director of Public Relations and supported by students who are interested in marketing and communications. The Public Relations Working Group markets ASG events through advertising and promotion materials. The group also supports the mission of ASG through sponsoring community relations activities that foster connection and understanding among the ASG, students, faculty and staff at MiraCosta College.

San Elijo Working Group

The San Elijo Working Group represents and supports students at San Elijo.

Shared Governance

ASG represents students on shared governance and district committees. If you are not on the ASG, but interested in serving as a student representative on one of these committees, please email sll@miracosta.edu.
